SJD Homes has grown from a small humble company with just 2 employees, to one of Melbourne’s leading home builders. We’ve built thousands of homes for local families, opened over 35 display homes, and now employ more than 100 staff members.

Principal of SJD Homes, Simon Dunstan, comes from a background of managing some of Victoria’s largest organisations of developers and builders of new homes. In this time, Simon discovered, by listening to what home buyers really wanted, that there was a distinct gap in the marketplace for a product which better met their needs than what was on offer. As a result, SJD Marketing was born, whereby Simon created his own floorplan series, the market response to which confirmed this was what home buyers had been searching for.

As a registered Greensmart builder since 2009, we are highly conscious of the
environmental effects that the construction of our homes may cause and do what we
can to minimise any damaging effects. We designed and constructed our first 7 star ‘Eco
Collection’ home in 2009, one of the very first of its kind, and have long been passionate
about building sustainable homes, and working towards building a stronger future.

From starting with planning our beautiful sales consultant was so incredibly accommodating, with a good eye for function, style and layout she helped us create something really special! The colour studio was amazing, spoilt for choice! Our colour consultant was awesome! She had such great knowledge with design & helped so much with bringing personality into the home. Our site supervisor, we could not fault! He was super honest, reliable & supportive! He made the whole process seamless from start to finish! He takes a lot of pride in his work even after the handover process, he continued to support us with any further questions we had. Building dreams as well as homes – Building our dream home with SJD Homes has simply been an amazing experience. From start to finish, the care, guidance, support and shared passion for our project from all of the SJD stakeholders has far exceeded our expectations. Before we even signed on with SJD, we went through at least 50+display homes. The superb quality of their display homes which won us over has been more than reflected in our new home and the finished product stands well above what we’ve seen from SJD’s competitors. From the design and planning process with our wonderful building consultant through to our colour selection and to our fantastic site supervisor, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The SJD team have gone above and beyond to not only help us achieve our dream, they proactively worked with us to deliver a better result than we ever could’ve imagined. - – There were no surprises, as they are very honest and upfront about all aspects including costs.
- – Flexibility when it comes to changing standard designs etc.
- – Their impeccable service when it comes to answering questions that you are not certain of.

SJD making dreams come true with our first home. I cannot believe how amazing our home is, the quality and finishings are amazing and our supervisor was incredible, he really stuck his neck out for us and got everything finished so we could move in and settle ourselves and our toddler just before our little girl arrived into the world. I used to work with supervisors in my line of work before maternity leave, so I was a bit nervous on how our supervisor was going to be but he blew my mind with how switched on and efficiant he was!! He picked up on things we missed and got them fixed the next day !! Wow !! Massive thank you SJD and the team for making our dreams come true on our first home !! I feel like that’s unheard of these days and SJD made it possible for us we are forever grateful!!

Great team at SJD – I can’t begin to explain how impressed I was with SJD homes. In my 20 years in the trade game myself, what I witnessed was amazing. The timing, the scheduling, the system and how they run is right up with the best I’ve ever seen. So so glad I decided to build with them. Our supervisor was so helpful and kept us up to date and informed with everything the whole way through. The tradies themselves were absolute guns at what they did. Everyone we dealt with made it an enjoyable experience. We received constant updates on our build, and if we had any queries, everyone we dealt with answered our questions promptly.
